7.0 Earthquake in Russia’s Eastern Peninsula

At 3:25 PM Saturday, January 30, local time (10:25 PM Friday, January 29 EST), a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Russia’s eastern Kamchatka peninsula. Currently it is unknown the extent of damages or casualties.

A strong, deep 7.0-magnitude earthquake rocked Russia’s far eastern Kamchatka peninsula on Saturday, the US Geological Survey reported.
